Scalby Lodge Farm sits in an idyllic location on the edge of the elegant seaside town of Scarborough, close to the Cleveland Way affording stunning views towards the 12th-century castle ruins and across the coastline towards Bempton Cliffs RSPB Bird Sanctuary. Bird watchers should note there is direct access to Scalby Pond, which is becoming well known for its rare bird life and boasts its very own hide which guests are welcome to use. The Heritage Coast boasts some of the finest award winning sandy beaches with Filey and Bridlington to the south and Whitby a little further north. Here visitors can board the NYM steam train and take an unforgettable journey through striking countryside into that well known village of Goathland. The market towns of Malton, Kirkbymoorside and Pickering still host weekly markets and are easily accessible. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway carries more passengers than any other heritage railway in the UK and the National Railway Museum is to be found in the county capital city, York.
